MID is updating our Local Hazard Mitigation Plan (LHMP), a strategic document that identifies natural hazards that could impact the District and our services and outlines long-term strategies to reduce or eliminate those risks. Common hazards that MID may face include dam failure, extreme weather impacts, flooding, fires, landslides and public health emergencies. The plan includes hazard risk assessment, a vulnerability analysis, and a prioritized list of mitigation actions designed to protect people, property, and infrastructure. By updating and adopting a LHMP, MID is taking a proactive approach to enhance public safety and help reduce the impacts of such hazards before they occur.
We want your input!
Your input on our LHMP updates will help MID create a stronger, safer plan to protect our community and customers. We invite you to please share your feedback to help us better understand community concerns, spot any missing risks, and improve our ability to reduce hazard risks.
