Water Rates/Allocation - 2010

Modesto Irrigation District Water Allocation Policy and Rates

• Base irrigation water allocation is 42 inches at $27 per acre "irrigated" water service charge. Minimum "irrigated water” service charge per account, regardless of acreage, is $135
  
  
• Additional 6 inches of water for groundwater recharge purposes offered at no additional cost
  
  
• An additional 12 inches of irrigation water ( from 48 to 60 inches) is available at a rate of $13.50 per acre foot
  
  
• Supplemental pumped ground water may be available at a cost of $20.00 per acre foot
  
  
• The "facilities maintenance" charge is $13.50 per acre. The minimum "facilities maintenance" charge per account, regardless of acreage, is $67.50.
  • Please note: Landowner pays a "facilities maintenance" charge only if not taking any surface irrigation water. Landowner pays either an "irrigated water” service charge or a "facilities maintenance" charge, not both.
    
    
• If the State of California levies fees or other charges upon MID, MID reserves the option to pass the cost on to the water consumer.
  
  
• A landowner may transfer water from a parcel he owns or rents to another parcel he owns or rents. To transfer water from a rented parcel, the landowner must have rented that parcel during the previous irrigation season. Water can only be transferred to and from lands within the MID irrigation boundary. Please contact MID Irrigation Services at 209 526-7639 for details.
