MID has grant monies available

Modesto Irrigation District (MID) has received a California Department of Water Resources Proposition 50 grant for $500,000. MID irrigation water users can apply for grant monies to help defray the cost of replacing ditches and cast-in-place concrete pipelines with plastic pipelines. Grant monies can be used to supplement MID’s current contribution to qualifying Incentive Program projects.

Landowners first need to contact MID to find out if a project qualifies for the MID Incentive Program and the state grant monies. Qualifying projects may include pipeline replacements for single and multiple landowners. Reimbursement could be up to two-thirds of the pipe replacement and cost of certain facilities. This phase of state grant funding expires at the end of 2008.
