MID Information Release
The McHenry Solar Farm - California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA)
As a result of MID's request for offers for renewable energy projects, SunPower Corporation (SunPower) offered the purchase of electricity output from the McHenry Solar Farm, a proposed local solar photovoltaic (PV) project. This proposed project is a 154-acre, 25 MW solar PV project that would be developed by SunPower on the corner of McHenry Avenue and Ladd Road in northeast Modesto.
At this time,SunPower has prepared a Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the project. The Board of Directors will consider the approval of an EIR and a Large Generator Interconnection Agreement at its regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday July 26, 2011. The project would add approximately two percent renewable energy to MID's power resources starting in 2012.
The public has had several opportunities to provide comments and feedback throughout this process. Information regarding the process, documents and previous meetings is posted below.
