MID BIll Information
Bill Due Date
Your electric bill is due when you receive
it. Please call us immediately at (209) 526-7337
if you receive a bill you know you will have
trouble paying. The bill is past due after the
bill payment due date shown.
Late Payment
Fee
A late payment penalty of 1.5 percent or a minimum
of $5 will be charged if you pay the bill after
its due date. The late payment fee is charged
even if you do make payment arrangements.
Disconnection Notice
MID sends a disconnection notice if your account
is delinquent. A shutoff date is given on the
disconnection notice. Electric service may be
discontinued if the delinquent amount is not
paid by the due date on the notice. You may pay
at either of MID Modesto offices, 1231 11th Street
or 1022 Woodland Avenue.
Once your electric service is discontinued because
you didn't pay, all money you owe must be paid
in cash or money order at the MID office before
your electricity will be turned on. Any penalties
and charges for disconnection, reconnection,
returned checks, broken or damaged MID equipment,
and meter deposits must also be paid. An additional
deposit may be required to re-establish credit.
For more information, contact a Customer Service

Billing Dispute Procedure
You can request an explanation if you believe
your bill is wrong. Call MID Customer Services
at (209) 526-7337 (toll-free: (888) 335-1643)
within five days of receiving your bill. If you
then still believe your bill is wrong, you may
request a hearing. You must request this hearing
before the payment due date shown on your bill.
MID will not disconnect your electric service
while an investigation of your bill is pending.
If you do not pay all charges by the due date,
MID may shut off your electric service after
giving you proper notice.
