Central Air Conditioner
$250.00 - $350.00 unit

• Rebate given for replacing an existing home air conditioner or adding a new unit.
• Product can receive only one rebate from MID during its useful life period, which is defined as 18 years for residential air conditioning. Reapplication for rebates will not be accepted during this period.
• Only air conditioners with cooling capacity < 65,000 Btu/h and independently verified performance ratings are eligible for rebate. Units must be listed on the CEE/ARI HVAC Directory (http://www.ceedirectory.org). The current ARI reference number (not archived) for the product(s) installed must be entered on the application form and the Certificate of ARI-Certified Performance attached.
• The minimum efficiency required (SEER/EER/HSPF) for Split Systems is (14.5/12.0/8.5) and for Packaged Units is (14.0/11.0/8.0). The HSPF rating only applies to heat pumps.
• Maximum rebate limited to two (2) A/C units per household.
• Split systems require installation of matching evaporative (indoor) coil. Phased replacement of the condenser and coil will be considered eligible for rebate provided: 1) they are installed within one (1) year of each other as documented by invoice; 2) the air conditioning system is complete at the time of application; 3) the certifying contractor provides a valid ARI reference number and attaches the Certificate of ARI-Certified Performance; and 4) all other requirements are otherwise met.
• Split systems using water/evaporative-cooled condensers may be eligible provided the air conditioning system has a current (not archived) ARI reference number and efficiency rating. MID will determine qualification for rebate.
• A California State License Board contractor in good standing with a C-20 license must perform installation.
• Contractor must complete and sign the Information and Certification portion of the rebate application.
• A copy of the permit (city or county, as applicable) is required.
• Air duct test is required. Air ducts with leakage greater than 15% may be eligible for an additional rebate when the air ducts are repaired, sealed and/or replaced (refer to Air Duct Sealing requirements below).
• For rooftop installations, customer must provide code-compliant access for MID inspection.
• Commercial units installed on residential services must comply with the MPower Business Rebate requirements and limitations.

Air Duct Sealing
$100.00 - $300.00 Maximum per residence

• Product can receive only one rebate from MID during its useful life period, which is defined as 18 years for air duct sealing.
• Reapplication for rebates will not be accepted during this period.
• A California State License Board contractor in good standing with a C-20 license must perform sealing.
• Contractor must complete and sign the Information and Certification portion of the rebate application.
• Rebate available for residential services with central air conditioning regardless of unit age or SEER rating.
• Air ducts with initial leakage less than 15% do not qualify for HC101 or HC106.
• Air ducts with initial leakage less than 20% do not qualify for HC108.
• Post-repair leakage must be 10% or less for single-family residence.
• Post-repair leakage must be 15% or less for multi-family residence.
• Rebate may not exceed air duct repair, sealing and / or replacement cost.
• Maximum rebate for single-family residence $300.

• Maximum rebate for multi-family residence $250.
• Copy of CF6R Form (Installer Compliance Statement For Duct Leakage) must be submitted with application.

Variable Speed Motor (VSM) Air Handler System
$50.00 unit

• VSM must be installed in conjunction with a new air conditioner or heat pump. Purchase and install a VSM or other advanced motor technology for efficient air handlers installed with any air conditioner or heat pump, split or package air handler system.
• This incentive is restricted to air handlers that operate during the cooling season (summer months), which circulate air through
  a cooling coil of an air conditioner or heat pump system, and use the same duct system.
• Products can receive only one rebate from MID during its useful life period, which is defined as 15 years for VSMs. Reapplication for rebates will not be accepted during this period.

Whole House Fan
$100.00 unit

Whole house fans are usually installed in your home by attaching the fan to the ceiling joists in a central hallway. The fan exhausts air from the living space into the attic. It is important to ensure there is adequate attic ventilation to allow the air to escape easily. It is recommended that louvers be installed between the living space and attic to create a tight seal. An insulated louver cover should be purchased for use during the winter months.

• Product can receive only one rebate from MID during its useful life period, which is defined as 15 years for whole house fans. Reapplication for rebates will not be accepted during this period.
• Fan must be permanently installed (connected to framing).
• Home must have existing central, window or wall air conditioning.
• Must move at least 1,000 cubic feet of air per minute (CFM).
• Maximum rebate limited to two fans per household, subject to proper sizing requirements
• Attic fans do not qualify for this rebate.

Solar Attic Fan
$50.00 - $100.00 unit

• Product can receive only one rebate from MID during its useful life period, which is defined as 10 years for solar attic fans. Reapplication for rebates will not be accepted during this period.
• Minimum capacity is 800 CFM.
• Must have a thermal switch.
• Installations on north-facing roofs do not qualify.
• Must replace existing electric attic fans or be installed where no previous powered attic ventilation (solar or electric) currently exists.
• Maximum rebate limited to two fans per household, subject to proper sizing requirements.
• Maximum rebate cannot exceed 50% of product cost (no labor).
