Actions today
The Board by unanimous vote
- Accepted the 2005 Public Benefit Program
Report. In 2005 MID’s Public Benefit Programs
invested $6.4 million in demand side management,
energy efficiency, energy conservation, renewable
energy, and low-income programs. New energy
efficiency efforts reduced District-wide energy
use by three million kilowatthours in 2005 –
enough to power about 300 homes or three large
supermarkets for a year.
- Approved a revised 2006 Public Benefit Program
budget that reflects a net increase of $824,289.This
increase results from a change in the MID CARES
rate discount and the timing of renewable wind
energy purchases.
- Approved a contract with Bureau Veritas for
plan review services in an amount not to exceed
$120,000. This contract relates to the Phase
Two Expansion of the Modesto Regional Water
Treatment Plant and includes review of California
building codes and safety assessment plans.
This expense was anticipated and is included
in the project budget. The Domestic Water Technical
and Policy committees have approved the contract.
- Approved a resolution authorizing the Assistant
Treasurer to sell stock that MID has received
and will be receiving through the Enron bankruptcy
reorganization. Staff will report each sale
to the Board as it occurs.
