THIS INFORMATION FOR JULY 11, 2008 TODAY IS A POWER WATCH DAY
Make energy conservation a good habit every day
MID electric system outlook - VERY GOOD
Today's peak electric load was 529 megawatts (MW). The high temperature was 93. Temperatures are predicted to drop and return to seasonal norms over the weekend.
See the July/Aug MID Update for information on keeping cool and saving energy.
TIP: Set your thermostat at 78 degrees (or higher) when you're at home, 85 degrees when you're away. For each degree higher, you'll use roughly 3 % less energy.
If you are elderly, disabled, have medical conditions or are sensitive to heat, talk with your doctor before cutting back air conditioner use or taking any action that could endanger your health or safety.
