20 - Continuity of Service
20.1 Continuity of Service
The District and the Union recognize and agree that the
provisions of Section 923 of the California State
Labor Code are not
applicable to employees of the District.
The duties performed by employees of the District as
part of their employment pertain to and are essential
to the
operation of a public utility and the welfare of the
public dependent
thereon. During the term of this agreement employees
shall not partially or totally abstain from the performance
of
their duties including overtime for the District. The
Union shall not call upon or authorize employees individually
or collectively to engage in such activities and shall
make
a reasonable effort under the circumstances to dissuade
employees from engaging in such activities, and the
District shall
not cause any lockout.
